Refuge

Scripture “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.”  Nahum 1:7 NIV

Where do you go when you find yourself in trouble? What do you turn to?

Many of us find ourselves in trouble today. In these moments, we have to decide how we are going to handle the trouble we are facing. It is so tempting to try to resolve our troubles on our own. It’s actually not a bad thing to try to do all you can to make your situation better. Of course, you should work to reconcile that friendship? Of course, you should make every effort to get the medical attention you need. Just don’t do it without God. 

Where we go wrong is when we put all of our hope and trust in ourselves or in something else other than God. Of course God uses people and things to accomplish His Will. But, when our trust is in what/who He uses instead of in Him, then we can find ourselves in even more trouble when those things/people let us down.

Remember to put your trust in Him. He is a safe place. He knows how deliver us from trouble. 

Prayer

Lord, when we find ourselves in trouble, remind us to run to You and to put our trust in You. Thank You Lord for letting us know in Your Word that You will take care of us. Help us not to turn to other things that are no good for us; But to always come to you. In Jesus name, Amen.
